Twingly Channels
Client: Twingly Channels via Hyper Island
Role: Concept, Film Production & Design
Description: Hyper Island Module Design 1
Brief:
Design and come up with a concept for the Twingly website.
It should:
*Get rid of clutter making the interface easier to understand and use
*Improve user retention (coming back), bringing user to develop the habit of using Twingly Channels
*Include inline media (images and video, think Facebook) into the news streams in Channels
Problem:
Twingly had been in beta testing for a while and fixed bugs, but the real problem was the design and the opening of the site for the general public. But how would the public know what the site was all about? The site had too much information and a new user would have a problem finding wat he/ she was looking for.
Solution and execution:
Our team decided to focused on two things.
1. A stop motion film which puts Twingly in a bigger context so a person who lands on the index page would have a feeling of what the site is all about.
(The film shown here is a rough cut from the film that is yet to be produced for Twingly.)
2. The web design, with a large emphasis on the feed feature.
